The Slackware desktop beautification project

Work in progress - estimated date of completion around end of february

  1. Enable 100DPI X.org desktop
  2. Fix proper font rendering and install Microsoft fontpack
  3. Fine-tune KDE anti-alias and auto-hint settings
  4. Install more cursors (Crystal)
  5. Install icons (Crystal)

Details in progress - stay tuned.

Also considering to add a section on would-be-nice topics, such as porting usplash to Slackware. usplash is a bootsplash system residing completely in userspace, thus allowing for a nicer boot without compromising stability or speed. Not necessary, but maybe a candidate for the nice-to-have department for desktop users.
